If your alarm still beeps and arms, but you're stuck punching a code on a 20-year-old keypad, you almost certainly don't need a new system: you need an IP upgrade. We do these every week.
What an upgrade actually involves
Most modern alarm panels (Bosch, Paradox, NESS, Honeywell, DSC, Reliance, 2M) have an Ethernet or IP add-on module. We fit it inside the panel enclosure, plug it into your network, register the panel to the manufacturer's app, and walk you through arming from your phone.
- Open panel, fit Ethernet/IP module
- Run a short Cat5/6 cable to your nearest router or switch
- Program panel for IP, set users and PINs
- Register panel to manufacturer cloud (Bosch / Paradox / etc.)
- Set up app on every household device
Will it work on my panel?
Almost always. Bosch 3000, 6000 and most Paradox EVO/SP/MG panels are easy. NESS D8/D16/M1 are well-supported. DSC PowerSeries and Honeywell Vista are usually upgradeable too. If your panel is older than 2005 we'll be honest: sometimes a fresh Bosch 3000 costs about the same as forcing an upgrade.

An IP module + install + app setup typically lands around $400–$700 depending on brand and how easy the network run is. A lot less than a full new system.
